MOVING MOUNTAINS!

MOVING MOUNTAINS!

The story of Heart Mountain is almost unbelievable. Rather than being a part of the Absaroka Range, Heart Mountain lies to the east, in the Big Horn Basin.

Scientists have confirmed that Heart Mountain was once part of the Absaroka Range when it formed 50 million years ago - so what happened? Turns out, it moved 62 miles away thanks to a volcanic landslide that took place in just over about half an hour.

Yes, that means the entire mountain was moving across the basin at 100 miles per hour." (Information from www.onlyinyourstate.com)

How cool is that!!? Wyoming is amazing!

Have I mentioned lately that I love where I live!
